In the Cafe, our wider range of teas are available for you to just sit, relax and have a great brew, while taking in our stunning view. Today we honour the dragon slayer St George by feasting on English food and drink! Whether you decide on a pie and pint, or cosy stew, be sure to pop to Albion Farm for your feast of food. The butchers are in full swing to show what is close to our Saddleworth hearts, with our very own Moor reared mutton, which will be on special offer all weekend to show you what the 'best of British' means to us.
Mutton is known for its deep rich texture with an intense taste that surpasses lamb. Great for all slow cooking options, and we think the best meat for any curry!
All our beef is hung on the bone for a minimum of 21 days to ensure maximum taste with a tender bite. They are one of the oldest breeds in Britain and date back to before Roman times. The breed are great for foraging on the hills, provide less problems during calving - luckily for the farmer. Above all else, they are one of the most hardy breeds so are ideal for life on the Moors.
Be sure to give the Butchery a visit for exciting new beef dishes that will solve your meal time dramas! On the deli you will find steak and ale, meat and potato, and beef and blue cheese pies - plus some one-off creations to showcase the best of British Beef. The awareness of Coeliac disease and the gluten free diet is growing, and so is our range of 'free from' products.
In our 'free from' range, you'll find a whole bunch of cakes, biscuits, baking mixes, pastas and flours. We also proudly stock Voakes of Whixley's gluten free pies, pasties and sausage rolls so you'll be sure not to miss out!
In our Cafe, try our home cured ham, pineapple, free range eggs and hand cut chips, or go for a lighter sandwich using gluten free bread. Have you tried our mighty deli sandwiches? Made right in front of you, your way, there's no wonder they're so popular! For a day of global whisky celebration, all you need is a bottle of whisky and a friend to share it with! With a long and rounded finish of delicious, smoky earthy tones, this is British countryside in a bottle.
It is scrumptiously fruity and at the same time seriously grown up! A delicate blend of Scotch whisky and wild blackberries, it can often be described as similar to mulled wine, with a whisky kick and a frilly fringe of fruit.
You'll find meat packs, beer boxes and savoury snacks ready to grab and go. We've done the hard work so you can get back to celebrating with family and friends! The weekend following Whit Friday. As this weekend is now a firm Saddleworth favourite, we will be sure to have plenty to see and do with family and friends, including the return of Kyle's butchery and sausage making demos - as well as lots of items for you to take home for your feast and BBQ.
And, as the festival falls just after 'lambing' this year, you may even get to see some of our newborn lambs! You really don't have to go great distances to get a good wine; English wine is becoming increasingly more available and popular. Here at Albion Farm, we are proud to stock Stopham Wine which is grown and nurtured in the Sussex countryside. This week we will be giving you the opportunity to sample these wines so you can discover that you can get a good wine on your doorstep and don't need to go as far as Italy, France or Australia!
Come rain or shine we love a good BBQ and nothing beats the smell of burning charcoal and sizzling meat! Our favourite pick from The Bay Tree is their savoury sweet corn relish which makes burgers beautiful! Also a must is ketchup - The Foraging Fox Beetroot ketchup is the perfect dip for your bangers.
